Musical Activities at Temple B’nai Shalom

Music plays a very important role at Temple B’nai Shalom.  Our Junior Choir is made up of children at our Religious School and our Senior Choir is made up of volunteers and professional staff singers. They perform regularly at Temple services and events throughout the year. Some of our musical activities include:

• Participation in the High Holy Day services.

• Our Temple “Purimspiel” is an annual featured event where we present the Megillah in a musical show format. It is a full theatrical presentation of the story of Esther, Haman, Mordecai, Ahasuerus, and Vashti as we re-tell the story of Purim. It is a must-see!

• A “Song-a-thon” where people request songs of all types. It is a wonderful musical experience!

• Several of our Shabbat services are Sermon-in-Songs which feature special music of all types and offer an opportunity to learn about different Jewish composers.
