Lifelong Learning

The obligation to teach one's children is set forth in the first paragraph of the Sh'ma Yisrael and V’ahavta prayer: “Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deut 6:6-7)

At Temple B’nai Shalom, we believe that learning begins at birth and continues for all of our lives. We offer numerous choices to take the journey with us.

Religious School

From Little Learners and Tot Shabbat, to Hebrew and Judaica lessons, to Bar and Bat Mitzvah, to  Hebrew High School and Confirmation, and adult education and adult B’nai Mitzvah classes, there are always opportunities to learn at the TBS religious school.

Adult Education

“And the study of Torah is equal to them all.”

In the Talmud we read that the study of Torah is equal in value to all of the other commandments of Judaism. We join together as adults to Temple Bnai Shalom Adult Education study, reflect upon our Jewish teachings and texts, and see what lessons they can offer for our lives today.
